MA, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I believe that it takes tremendous courage and strength for you to acknowledge your personal pain, struggles, and vulnerabilities. It takes even greater resolve for you to seek guidance from another to help you navigate such life obstacles and to initiate the process of change. Thus, out of great respect and compassion, I strive to create a safe environment for you that fosters such self-exploration.
I trust in others’ innate drive for personal growth, emotional balance, and inter-connectedness. However, I find that life ‘noise’ frequently deafens people to their own internal voice and may derail them from their desired path. This may leave many feeling disoriented, isolated, and despaired.
My role is to meet you where you are at in your life voyage. Rather than feeling lonely, frightened, and trapped, my goal is to help guide you through the shadows and to stand beside you as you conquer your greatest fears. I am a guide, a coach, and a fellow journeyman. You are the expert and ultimately decide which direction your heart or mind should lead you.
My services focus on realizing intrinsic strengths, skill building, and changing self-defeating behaviors. Since change is a demanding and scary process, my integrative approach tends to be solution focused, employs elements of cognitive behavioral and humanistic therapy, and encourages the practice of acceptance and mindfulness. Such self-examination can be uncomfortable and taxing at times, but is often critical to the evolutionary process. It creates the space for something new to emerge—for hopes to materialize.
